Should Chatbots Be a Part of Your Marketing Strategy?
You know the topic of bots is a hot one when the Internet marketing crowd starts selling courses on making millions with chatbots!
But, there’s reason for small business owners to start paying attention to this category as it’s probably here to stay. Facebook is pushing bots in messenger as another ad stream and more and more companies are using bot technology to serve clients.
I’ve yet to see a great lead generation use for bots, but it’s coming.
I wrote a post about bots not long ago – check out The Bots Are Coming and have a listen to this week’s podcast.
My guest for this week’s episode of the Duct Tape Marketing Podcast is Ben Beck. He is an entrepreneur, marketing consultant, and author of the weekly MarTech Monday column on the ClearVoice blog. He and I discuss the trending topic of chatbots and why they’re going to be a big part of our marketing and technology lives.
Beck loves working at the intersection of technology, security, and marketing. From his early youth selling discount candy from his locker to building his own SMS marketing tool that he sold to the state of Utah, he has learned the value of entrepreneurial thinking and smarter marketing.
Questions I ask Ben Beck:
- What is a chatbot?
- What are some of the categories of ways businesses use chatbots?
- Should everybody consider chatbots of part of their marketing strategy?
What you’ll learn if you give a listen:
- Where chatbots fall short
- Why personality needs to be included in chatbots
- How to build a chatbot
Key takeaways from the episode and more about Ben Beck:
