Yahoo quitely added another type of listing for its local search engine offering. They call this one Local Featured Listings. Essentially, they are giving business owners the ability to buy a featured spot on the search results when someone does a search at YahooLocal.

Getting listed by YahooLocal is free (and you should do that!), they have also had an enhanced listing for about $10 per month that allowed you to enhance the details they gave out about your business. With the featured listing you can buy search terms for as little as $25 per month.

So, let’s say you wanted to find a local marketing agency and you went to YahooLocal and searched Kansas City Marketing Agency – depending upon the competition for that phrase, the top spot is either a Yahoo Search Marketing pay per click advertiser or a featured listing advertiser paying a flat fee.
