Weekend Favs December One

My weekend blog post routine includes posting links to a handful of tools or great content I ran across during the week.

I don’t go into depth about the finds, but encourage you check them out if they sound interesting. The photo in the post is a favorite for the week from Flickr or one that I took out there on the road.

Good stuff I found this week:

iCharts – Nice tool for creating and sharing data driven stories and graphics.

Dashboard Junkie – Free Google Analytics dashboards that make it easier to display the most meaningful data.

PinGraphy – Pinterest Management tool for brand that allows you to schedule pins.

  1. Just installed the Social Media dashboard from Dashboard Junkie… WOW! That’s a whole lot of smart insight on one screen. Love it! Thanks for sharing such a handy tool!

    1. Thanks Rosie – I do think that once you start making this data look the way you need it to look it makes a lot more sense. Also, one other cool feature of dashboards is that you can share them. So, if you find the social media dashboard works for you, you can send it or share a link for it with your clients and then they have it set up on their Analytics account with no work and no need to share any data or credentials to install it. You just open the dashboard, click the share button and copy the URL it gives you – share that with your clients and presto – instant dashboard for them by you – and don’t you look pretty darn smart!

  2. Trying pingraphy too – I like this idea of schedule pins on Pinterest – spreading out your pins
systematically so you don’t overwhelm your followers with so many pins
at once – plus, you maintain a consistent presence online! Your followers (and your boss) will think you are a genius!

    1. For those of us that have built followings based mainly on finding and sharing good stuff, scheduling is a must I think. It doesn’t mean you just post a bunch of stuff to create volume, but you don’t have to worry about overloading people with the good stuff all at once.

  3. Hi John – Thanks so much for writing about Pingraphy in the past. We’re now called Viraltag and have added some great features for visual content marketing. We’re also happy to tell you Viraltag is now running on Pinterest’s API. With the new data we’re building more functionality to make Viraltag an even more powerful platform for our users. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me directly — Jilly Badanes, Director of Marketing @ Viraltag.
