6 Social Media Pro is Re-Opened

Last month I introduced a beta launch of our 5-week social media training course called Social Media Pro. The launch was restricted to 100 people and we filled it up in a few hours. Since then we’ve added, tweaked and polished the program with input from our beta group and today we are re-opening social media pro to the public.

Lots of small business owners are searching for someone to cut through the hype and show them how to get on board with social media in a way that makes sense. Social Media Pro is a unique, self-guided, but logical approach to social media that will take you by the hand and guide you through the entire process, step-by-step, of getting going with social media.

This is not an exercise in theory, it’s a proven road map that includes a logical 5-week path for you to follow and 40 or so actual videos of me setting up the steps included in the course. You get to look over my shoulder while I do things like set-up a WordPress blog, create Facebook Fan Pages, set-up Twitter searches, and design a one-page social media dashboard. – Get all the details here

(Here’s my post from last month’s beta launch)

7 Introducing Social Media Pro

Warning: A bit of a straight commercial post here.

If you’ve subscribed to the Duct Tape Marketing newsletter or read this blog for any amount of time you know I use social media, talk about social media, and generally love exploring it and finding very practical ways to use this new toolset.

Now, not everyone has the same passion I do, but most small business owners have concluded they can’t sit it out.

So here’s what I’ve done to help.

I’ve created a 5-week online course called Social Media Pro that will take you by the hand and guide you through the entire process, step-by-step, of getting going with social media.

The video below is a sample of the type of content and approach covered in the course. (Facebook Fan Box from Session Four)

If any of this sounds interesting then you’ll want to click here to go to the no-hype description page and read more. A few weeks back I enrolled 20 beta testers who loved the course, but who also gave me some great suggestions for making it even better. Now I am opening the course up to 100 participants only in this first round at a greatly reduced price of $99. (Sold Out )

Update: The special phase one – 100 slots are sold out. We will reopen the program again in Jan 2010 however . . .

You may enroll in the Social Media Pro Coaching Program by contacting a participating Duct Tape Marketing Coach to learn about group and 1-on-1 coaching options. These programs use the same online materials but give you the tremendously powerful advantage of working in person with a Duct Tape Marketing Coach.

This is not a sales ploy, we’ve beta tested the entire course and it’s ready to go, but I want to keep making it better so I am also going to take this first group of 100 and conduct weekly live video chats so that I can answer all your questions and be 100% certain that we deliver the ultimate course in social media.

Social Media Pro is part one of a larger effort to create an entire set of marketing related training modules under the umbrella of Duct Tape U. These courses will be available as self-study or guided by a Duct Tape Marketing Coach. I have to tell you that I’m as excited about this new tool as anything I’ve ever worked on.

279 Social Media Training Course Beta Testers Needed

Social media systemThis whole social media thing for small business can be confusing, I know, I speak to groups of small business owner routinely and hear things like – “I’m overwhelmed, I’m tired of the hype, what do I do first, how do I find the time.”

Update: The good news is a lot of people really want to beta test this program – over 125 left comments for the 10 spots, but I guess that’s the bad news too. Here’s what I’ve decided to do – I will choose 20 beta testers based on comments and offer a smokin hot deal to the other 105 who took the time to participate. (comments are now closed) This course is one of the ways I put my kids through college so please appreciate the it’s worth way more than I’m going to charge.

If you’ve ever found yourself saying something along those lines, I would like to let you know that I’ve taken the practical strategies and tactics I use and teach to help people create a social media system and turned them into a five session course I call – Social Media Pro.

The course is not really ready to go yet. I mean, it’s ready, but I’m not sure I’m ready. I would first like to recruit 10 beta testers to go through the entire online program and give me feedback and reviews to help me understand if the course delivers the results I’m hoping for – a small business owner building an entire social media system that allows them to effectively market their business without going crazy.

The program consists of five online tutorials backed with 38 videos that show you step by step how to do every action described in the lessons. The course is delivered sequentially over a five week period so you can focus on one lesson and set of action steps per week without becoming overwhelmed.

The course breaks down like this

  • Session One – Creating a Social Media Strategy
  • Session Two – Optimizing Brand Assets
  • Session Three – Blogging for Business
  • Session Four – Social Networking and Networks
  • Session Five – Managing the Beast

You can check out the full course details here, but there’s noting to buy, so come back and read the rest of this post if you are interested in the program.

If you would like to be a beta tester I need you to leave a comment in this post describing a) your greatest frustration with implementing social media or b) the single most important thing you would hope to get from a course like this.

In addition, if chosen you will need to pay $1 and agree to complete the action steps at the end of each lesson and provide feedback on what works or what’s missing and report on the tactics you’ve implemented as a result of the course. (Thoughtful, passionate, and creative responses will be most rewarded.)

Deal? Leave your comment.
